Today was a good day. I gotta go to Chrysler’s 2016 Drive Event. Some stuff is embargoed, but the ‘16 Viper isn’t. And damn, it looks amazing in matte red.
I’d never attended a shin dig like this, and to be honest I’ve never gone 4-wheeling(since I was a young kid at least) or done an autocross event. They had both set up, along with a 1/8 mile dragstr....errrr...”acceleration” test with a ‘15 Challenger and Charger Hellcat.

I took a Power Wagon on the Chelsea Proving Grounds off road course, and a cool old timer from Quebec asked to tag along. I’m glad I let him, because he was super experienced and gave me so many pointers I feel like I could go tackle Moab now.
I’m sure at some point some videos will surface of that, the dude behind me in a Rebel was smart and had his GoPro on the hood. I was just having fun driving.
For my first time ever doing an autoX, I had a pretty nice choice of rides. I figured I’d start from the bottom and work my way up. Abarth to Jeep SRT to 392 Charger to Viper. Started by saying I was gonna take it easy, ended with getting the Viper loose in the corners. Also, shoulda worn my Pilotis, my normal kicks were a bit too wide:
